Fusion World vs the older sets

Fusion World (sets numbered FB01 onward, from 2024) is the current game. The original Dragon Ball Super Card Game (the Masters series, Unison Warrior, Zenkai and the rest) is a separate game with a separate card pool. Cards do not cross over. When buying for a deck, check the set code on the listing: FB sets are Fusion World; BT, EB, UW and Z sets are the older game.

Legacy cards are cheap, with exceptions

Most older-game singles have dropped in price since Fusion World took over, which makes completing an old collection cheap. The exceptions are the alternate-art Secret Rares and promos of Goku, Vegeta and Broly, which hold collector value regardless of playability.

Character popularity drives collector prices: Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Broly and Frieza alternate arts hold value; a Secret Rare of a less popular character can be cheap for its rarity. Frequently Asked Questions

UK collectors on the Packrat marketplace (GBP, UK postage, payment held until delivery), the big UK retailers for new Fusion World sets, Cardmarket for a European order, and eBay UK for Japanese promos, alternate arts and older Masters-series cards.

No. Fusion World, launched in 2024, is a separate game with its own card pool and rules; the older sets (the Masters and Zenkai series) are a different, now-legacy format. Fusion World cards cannot be played in the old format or vice versa, so check which game a listing belongs to before buying for a deck.

Common, Uncommon, Rare, Super Rare, Special Rare (SPR) and Secret Rare (SCR), plus alternate-art parallels of the higher rarities and Leader cards. Secret Rares and the alternate arts of popular characters carry most of a set's value; the regular print of the same card plays identically.

For a deck, yes. A Fusion World deck needs a Leader and a few Super Rares and Secret Rares plus playable commons; buying them as regular prints costs far less than the boxes needed to pull them. For alternate arts, singles again, since their pull rate makes chasing them in packs poor value.

Check the event: official English-language events generally require English cards. Japanese singles are cheaper and release earlier, which makes them popular for collecting.

Near Mint for Secret Rares and alternate arts you want to keep or grade; Lightly Played is fine sleeved for a deck and cheaper. Read the condition field on the listing and look at photos of the foil surface.
