Marketplace Terms of Service
Last updated: 27 February 2026
1. Platform Role
PACKRAT ("the Platform"), operated by LEONIVEYGAMES LTD, provides an online marketplace where registered users can list, buy, and sell trading card game (TCG) singles. The Platform acts solely as an intermediary and is not a party to any transaction between buyers and sellers. We do not take ownership of, inspect, or guarantee the authenticity of items sold through the marketplace.
2. Eligibility
To sell items on the marketplace, you must:
- Have a registered PACKRAT account that is at least 7 days old
- Have completed at least 1 purchase from the PACKRAT store
- Have a verified email address
- Complete at least one payment provider onboarding: Stripe Connect (identity verification and bank details) and/or PayPal Commerce Platform
- Accept these Marketplace Terms of Service
Any registered user with a valid account may buy items on the marketplace.
3. Listing Rules
- Maximum of 2 active listings per seller at any time
- Listings expire after 30 days and must be re-listed if still available
- Each listing must include at least 1 timestamped photo showing the card alongside a handwritten note with the current date
- Sellers must accurately describe the card's condition using the standard grading scale (Near Mint, Lightly Played, Moderately Played, Heavily Played, Damaged)
- Listings may be bumped (moved higher in search results) once every 48 hours
- Listing prices must be between £0.50 and £10,000
- The Platform reserves the right to remove any listing that violates these terms
4. Fees
A 10% platform fee is charged on every sale. This fee is calculated from the card price only and is deducted before payout. Sellers see their estimated payout (90% of card price) when creating a listing. Shipping costs are set by the seller per listing and are passed directly to the seller — the platform fee does not apply to shipping.
5. Payments
All payments must be processed through the Platform using one of the supported payment methods: Stripe (card payments) or PayPal. Sellers and buyers must not arrange payments outside of the Platform, including via bank transfer, cash, or any other method. Attempting to circumvent Platform payments will result in a warning for a first offence and a permanent ban for a second offence.
When purchasing, buyers may choose between available payment methods depending on what the seller has set up:
- Card (Stripe):Lower fees. Payment is held in escrow by the Platform and released to the seller once delivery is confirmed or auto-released after 7 days. No built-in buyer protection — disputes are handled by the Platform.
- PayPal:Includes PayPal Buyer Protection. If an item doesn't arrive or doesn't match the listing description, buyers can open a dispute through PayPal's Resolution Center. Funds are sent to the seller when payment is captured.
6. Shipping
- Sellers choose their shipping method (Tracked or 2nd Class) and set their own shipping cost when creating a listing
- Sellers may offer free shipping, in which case the buyer pays no shipping charge
- Items shipped via Tracked delivery must include a valid tracking number
- Sellers must provide proof of postage and ship items within 3 business days of payment
7. Escrow & Fund Release
Stripe payments:When a buyer pays with Stripe (card), their payment is held securely by the Platform ("escrow"). Funds are not released to the seller until one of the following occurs:
- The buyer confirms delivery and verifies the card's condition
- 7 days have passed since the seller marked the item as shipped, with no dispute opened by the buyer (auto-release)
- A dispute is resolved in the seller's favour by the Platform
PayPal payments:When a buyer pays with PayPal, funds are captured and sent to the seller at the time of purchase. PayPal Buyer Protection applies — buyers can open a dispute through PayPal's Resolution Center if there is an issue.
8. Disputes
Stripe purchases: Buyers may open a dispute within 14 days of the item being marked as shipped if the item is not received, arrives damaged, or does not match the listing description. Disputes are reviewed by the Platform admin team. Possible outcomes:
- Resolved in buyer's favour: Full refund issued to the buyer
- Resolved in seller's favour: Funds released to the seller
The Platform's decision on disputes is final. Both parties should provide evidence (photos, tracking information, communication history) to support their case.
PayPal purchases:Disputes for PayPal transactions are handled through PayPal's Resolution Center. PayPal Buyer Protection covers items that don't arrive or don't match the listing description. The Platform does not mediate PayPal disputes — PayPal's decision is final.
9. Prohibited Items
- Counterfeit, replica, or proxy cards
- Stolen items
- Items not related to trading card games
- Any items that violate applicable UK laws
10. User Conduct
Users must not:
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users through the messaging system
- Submit fraudulent listings, reviews, or reports
- Attempt to manipulate ratings or feedback
- Use the Platform for money laundering or other illegal activities
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent listing limits or bans
11. Suspension & Banning
The Platform may suspend or permanently ban sellers who:
- Repeatedly violate these terms
- Receive multiple upheld complaints or disputes
- Attempt to bypass Platform payments
- List counterfeit or prohibited items
- Engage in abusive behaviour toward other users
Suspended sellers may not create new listings. Banned sellers will have all active listings removed and will be permanently prohibited from using the marketplace.
12. Liability
The Platform is not liable for the authenticity, condition, or quality of items sold through the marketplace. We do not verify cards or guarantee their grade. Buyers are encouraged to carefully review listing photos (including timestamp images) before purchasing. Disputes regarding authenticity or condition will be handled through our dispute resolution process.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the marketplace after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify sellers of significant changes via email.
